KIDS' PROBLEMS

Some are too big to fix by yourself

Do you have big worries sometimes? Maybe you're afraid of lots of things or you get really sad sometimes. Did you know that there are lots of kids just like you? There’s nothing wrong with you. You just need some help to figure out how to beat your problems and be your best. Everybody needs help sometimes.

GROWN UPS WANT TO HELP!

Things can get better

Maybe your mom or dad or even your teacher thought you could use some help to get through your worries, fears, or sadness. They want you to feel better (I bet you do too!). They thought having a helper could be good for you. Maybe someone said that you should see a therapist.

WHAT IS A THERAPIST?

A helper for your problems

A therapist helps people solve problems. There is a special kind of therapist just for kids called a children’s therapist. I am a children’s therapist. I help kids just like you to feel better about lots of things. I help kids when they are having problems with feelings, friends, school, or maybe even with their moms or dads. I help moms and dads learn to help their kids, too.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THERAPY?

Feeling better!

Therapy is a way to help you conquer some problems and feel better. In therapy, we do some fun things and some work. There are lots of different kinds of work in therapy. We might play games to help you learn ways to handle problems or use some fun activities to help you relax and keep your brain focused. Therapy is usually one hour every week. Soon you'll feel better and we'll plan for a goodbye celebration of all the hard work you have done.
